Viewed by many as the inventor of stand-up comedy, Miller made his name in the British Music Halls, always commanding top billing, and delivering an act that was as hysterical as it was outrageous (for the time). Miller, who was the inventor of the 'blue' joke, would often have an audience eating out the palm of his hand, and the epitome of British Working Class humour.

As Miller often said about himself, "They'll never be another!"
