Welcome back to the Lindsey Elmore show. We are taking a couple of weeks off to celebrate the holiday season and to take some time to rest as well as encourage rest among our colleagues who are so gracious to come in and give their time to be on the podcast. I'm so excited. My guest that we're highlighting today, I have wanted to interview for a long time, Izabella Wentz.

Izabella is a fellow pharmacist who has truly transformed her own life as well as the lives of so many others by helping them to find and treat the root cause of the number one cause of hypothyroidism, which is Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Izabella has been a number one New York Times Best Seller. She has taken her own personal health journey and turned it into life changing opportunities for other people. Other people learn more about themselves, identify the root cause and truly reverse disease instead of just putting a bandaid on it.

Her newest book that we're talking about today is all about how stress truly destroys every single function of our body. How being a female on high alert causes not only problems with metabolism and thyroid function, but it can also lead to adrenal fatigue as well as autoimmune conditions.

It throws cortisol out of balance and it simply puts us in a state of stress and fight or flight, which can have broad ranging implications. Even with our fertility, our digestion, our immunity, you name it, we're going to talk about how we can go from being these high alert, always on guard females and get out of the body's traditional responses to stress and danger and instead craft a parasympathetic state that can help not just one, but every single body system to heal.

Here at the Lindsey Elmore show, we are taking a couple of weeks off to celebrate all of the holidays and to truly take some time to rest. We are going to be re sharing a couple of the episodes that came to the very top of the chart this year, as well as a few of my favorite interviews that weren't necessarily the most listened to, but the ones that I enjoyed doing the most today's interview is with my pal Kelsey Koehler.

She has been practicing nutrition since 2011. She has a bachelor's degree in dietetics and exercise science, as well as a master's in functional medicine and clinical nutrition as a practitioner. She is such an extraordinary example of practicing what you preach. Her brand profit combines personalized nutrition, functional medicine, lab analysis, metabolic dysfunction.

She looks at blood chemistry and she also puts it all together in an understandable story that truly delivers a one Stop shop for each individual patient. She and I agree that everybody deserves to be healthy. And my favorite thing about this episode is that we also agree that being healthy is nothing more than a series of mundane, repetitive behaviors day after day after day.

Rosy Crescitelli describes herself as first a friend and a human design specialist. You can also add network marketer, mental wellness coach, and clinical aromatherapist to her long list. Candace graduated from the University of Utah in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and in 2012 with a Masters of Social Work. She worked at University of Utah’s Neuropsychiatric Institute as a member of their crisis team and as a therapist on the inpatient psychiatric unit at LDS Hospital.

While working at LDS Hospital, she saw excellent results with Ketamine treatment for severe depression, OCD, and suicidal ideation. Realizing she wanted to do deeper work with clients beyond the initial crisis of being in the hospital, she opened her private practice, Therapy Alliance, in 2016. She opened Ketamine Therapy at Therapeutic Alternatives in 2018 with Austin Francom, after seeing great results with her patients who were in ketamine therapy. Candace’s approach to healing is focused on creating a safe space for individuals to heal, as well as empowering patients to create safety inside of themselves.


Austin is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). He started his work in health care at Volunteers of America social detox and the University of Utah’s Neuropsychiatric Institute while obtaining undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Sociology.

After starting a nursing career, with experience largely in mental health and critical care, he earned a master’s degree in nursing from Westminster College. He has been practicing in the Salt Lake Valley in primary care since 2013. Austin continues to work at UNI as an advanced practice clinician. In 2015, he began working full time in family practice at Summit Primary Care.

Together, Austin and Candace began Ketamine Therapy at Therapeutic Alternatives in February 2019. They believed that Ketamine therapy could be safely and effectively administered in a setting that was less clinical and more welcoming. They set out to create a clinic that reflected this belief that inviting and comfortable surroundings could foster a more ideal environment for healing to happen. Each treatment room at Ketamine Therapy at Therapeutic Alternatives is designed with this philosophy in mind.
