It’s natural to think that God is like us, only better. But we don’t expect God to be good to us.

Jesus isn’t helpless, He is good to us beyond our knowledge.

The point of the Sermon on the Plain is Jesus wants His disciples to base their lives fully upon Him.

Following Jesus is more than trying to be nice. You receive eternal life, and you love your enemies, like God.

A true disciple receives the only true comfort that overcomes all the suffering in this life.

Fretting is no help, because the righteous and the wicked have different inheritances & judgment

Jesus experienced really bad opposition as He served the Father.

Because Jesus is human He prays. And God gives Him orders and the strength to do them.

Jesus divides the world into humble and arrogant, those being saved and those being condemned for rejecting Jesus. You can’t believe in Jesus if you’re arrogant.

Speak the truth in love about abortion because silence allows people to suffer.

If you get the gospel wrong it can’t save you; it’s no longer good news and it has no power. If you get the gospel wrong you’re working against Christ. Fortunately Jesus gets the gospel right.

God works in history. Jesus' return will be historical. We can't set times but we must know the signs and be ready now.
