We talk about a lot of hard things on this show but today’s topic was especially difficult. We talk about Roxy’s experience of being sexually groomed between the ages of 14-17. For years, these memories were repressed or deemed “not that bad”. Dialoging about it in the light of being in our 30s and recognizing the stolen youth and innocence was challenging but worthwhile. We also discuss sexual coercion in the church, how often victims of sexual grooming feel that they’re the ones to blame, and how being sexually groomed can affect relationships into adulthood.
