The Lion Tells The Story

On what would’ve been the 93rd birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., lets take a minute to set the record straight—King came in peace but he wasn’t afraid to knuck if you bucked! And until his dream is actualized, we’ll keep right on making good trouble on his behalf.

One of my favorite poets says it best.

“Harlem” by Langston Hughes

Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?

Or fester like a sore—and then run?

Does it stink link rotten meat?

Or crust and sugar over—like syrupy sweet?

Maybe it’s sags like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

It's not a mistake that we're STILL learning new truths about the contributions of black & brown people to American culture, in the year of 2020.  This mis-education was intentional and its effects clearly seen in our media's misrepresentation and erasure of marginalized people. So, how did we get here and how do we unlearn colonialism?
