Guys! Most of us are post-lockdown, as gyms begin to open up and sport organizations make clear that competitions will start again now or soon. So how do we return to play? How should we train, after having literal months of limited workouts and resources? Let's discuss.

If you have been living under a rock or hesitating about "getting involved", remember that this is not a time for silence and indifference. For those of us involved in sport, we have been called to a unique table, to which we need to bring the issue of racial biases and the system of suppression. Anti-racism does not happen overnight, and it requires White people to listen to Black people, learn, begin dismantling whiteness, and advocating loudly for equality, safety, and the end of white supremacy and privilege.
Please note: this episode is addressing White people involved in sport as coaches, practitioners, and management specifically. This episode originated as a blog article (linked below) and is a summary taken from the many action steps from Black activists and educators (listed below) who have already provided these resources to the public. I simply apply them to the sport context.

How should athletes fuel themselves? We discuss this often in more critical terms, talking about "diets" and "food as fuel". But is nutrition supposed to be approached with the same "just-do-it", data-based attitude as training and performance? Bri Collette (IG: @nutritionist.bri) is a registered dietician and volleyball player. She walks us through how athletes can introduce intuitive eating that benefits the psyche and performance in this really mind-blowing, action-oriented episode.

Helloooo! It's Solo Episode Time!! Let's talk about how soccer players (and competitive athletes) should be training at home/in self-isolation right now in order to prepare for a (hopefully) post-Corona season. What should we do in the meantime? Let me lay it out for you.
This week, goalkeeper coach Jesse Goleman (IG: @goleline) joins us to discuss the strength and conditioning qualities needed to be an elite keeper. We talk about what kind of conditioning is appropriate for keepers, how to train mobility, strength, and speed appropriately, when and how to get faster, and how to train at home during Quarantine.
Today we are joined by Ramon Diaz, a soon-to-be clinical sport psychologist, to talk about mental health concerns (athlete identity, coping mechanisms, perfectionism, self-efficacy) in sport and the outlook of youth and collegiate sport in 10 years time. He also provides some valuable insight into what to do as an athlete if you feel you are struggling mentally or emotionally (side note: you are NOT alone!), or as a coach or parent if you see your player struggling.
