  • The Listening Room - Episode 9

Welcome to The Listening Room, a space where real conversations meet real solutions hosted by April DiPietro, the Community Resource Director at the Camden County Care Management Organization.

Our mission is simple: connect families to the resources that help their children heal, grow, and thrive.

In this episode, April sits down with Michelle Carlamere, Vice President at Oaks Integrated Care, one of New Jersey's largest nonprofit behavioral health providers with more than 230 programs across mental health, addiction services, and developmental disabilities. They talk about the programs most families never hear about: mentoring and peer to peer navigators for youth in foster care, the new Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) in Camden County, independent living for young adults aging out of DCP&P, school based wellness programs, family preservation services, and outpatient therapy that takes Medicaid. If you have ever said "I don't even know where to begin," this conversation is your starting line.

In this episode, April sits down with Josh Godown, founder and CEO of Bridges Supports Coordination, a support coordination agency serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across 13 New Jersey counties. They talk about what happens when a young person ages out of the children's system of care: the DDD application, SSI and Medicaid, how to choose among nearly 140 support coordination agencies, and why keeping the person at the center matters more than any form. If you've ever wondered what comes after 21, this conversation is for you.
