When the little king's white rabbits disappear, everyone searches unsuccessfully, including princes, soldiers, hunters, and servants. Peggy, the gardener's daughter, loved the rabbits the most. She follows their tracks, finding clues like a hole in the fence and nibbled clover. She eventually discovers the rabbits in an old woman's cabbage patch. The king offers her any reward, but Peggy only asks for a rabbit of her own. The king, delighted, gives her two rabbits.
