Kory Luker has lead an amazing life! You might remember listening to his wife Amanda from Episode 11-The Bouquet of Flowers. In this episode, Kory shares stories about his incredible and miraculous health journey which resulted in 2 kidney transplants. When Leah Allred sent me a Facebook message wanting to come on to the podcast, I was so so so excited! Sometimes Heavenly Father needs us to go through things that we don't want to in order to teach us important lessons. But what happens when we really don't want to go through that thing, we don't understand why we need that experience and we don't understand the lesson? Follow up interview with Surba Tucker! Surba was kind enough to invite me to go on a trail run -but really a walk on my part because I'm a terrible runner-and when Surba invites you to do something like that, you agree. And he was kind enough to record a follow up episode! We had a great conversation while sitting on a giant rock overlooking the Salt Lake Valley.

When I first met Dri Marshall, I had been called as the Primary President in our ward and I chose her as one of my counselors-having never met her. Our job was to serve the children in our local church congregation. As I got to know her, I realized how blessed I was, and continue to be, to be able to call her my friend. I've always known her to be someone who is so loving and caring who has an amazing testimony of our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. On more than one occasion she's come to my house and decided to do my dishes for me because she knows that I hate doing dishes and she has a servant's heart who will help anyone while withholding judgement. She is also an amazing cook. In other words, she's an all around great person!

My sister Molly and I have been planning on doing this interview for several months and I'm so glad we could finally make it happen! In todays episode we talk about some shared experiences growing up, how Heavenly Father puts us in the right places with the right people to help us and support us, Molly's entrance into the world of cookie making as an owner of several Crumbl Cookies franchises and we reminisce about our shared love for our mom's pot roast and mashed potatoes! Now its time for me to interview the other McGuire sister!

What do work out journals, new years resolutions and the beatitudes have in common? The concepts of growth, progression and perfection are all intertwined, but I firmly believe that they should not come at the expense of feeling like a failure....and I don't think that's what Heavenly Father or our Savior Jesus Christ want for us. In our question to become like Him, we have to be careful to not let our feelings of failure interfere with relying on Him and being kind to ourselves.
