We grow up on a set of beliefs that help orient us in the way to live our lives.

As we grow, we can find that our desire to love people, the way we want to live our lives, can sometimes cause a conflict with our belief system. Which one do we follow? Our belief system or our ethic of love.

So many things can happen in our lives that leave a scar. These can be incredibly painful times to go through and it can often be difficult to see where God was in the process.

If we can cling on to God through these times then the scars that we bare become a reminder that we survived, that we came through it and that God was with us.

When we make mistakes or get caught up in negative habits, we can find that we get wrapped up in things that hinder our us and restrict our ability to move forward or grow.

If we can invite God into this stuff, as difficult as it may be to process, we can find hope that life doesn't have to be this way and experience freedom.

Today we look at the elements that impact our character and the importance of inviting God to shape and mould us to be more like Jesus.

Our second layer of Identity is based around the things that we are passionate about and skilled in. People will quickly notice these elements of our identity and that will ultimately lead to opportunities to develop connections and relationships.

The challenge with passion and skills is that they can easily become the most important thing to us and, as a result, we can sometimes close God out of this layer. Today we look at how important it is to get God into the right place and allow him to shape, influence and enhance this area of our identity.
