This teaching is part 3 in a series on the book of Titus. In this episode, Ivan Sullivan turns the conversation to chapter 1, verses 5 and 6, and introduces the biblical qualifications for eldership. Paul directed Titus to appoint elders in every town. He did not record specific instructions on how exactly Titus was to do this, but he did give a detailed list of characteristics that are required of elders. There are different ways these characteristics have been understood throughout church history - but one idea remains consistent - elders must demonstrate a higher standard of character and godliness as they govern the Church of Christ, and set an example to believers. Tune in as Ivan unpacks the requirements to be “above reproach,” and to be the “husband of one wife.”
