THE LIZZY JANE PODCAST

Born and raised in Tampa, FL, Evan Cazes, known behind the decks as Evalution, first discovered his passion for music at eight years old. After pressing the keys of his father’s grand piano for the very first time, his infatuation with music grew exponentially. Evalution quickly took on other instruments such as guitar, bass guitar, and drums, and, he began to develop his musical style and personal tastes by learning to play songs from his early musical influences such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd.

As Evalution continued improving his performance skills and expanding his knowledge of music he was eventually exposed to the art of DJing. Within his first year at Florida State University, Evalution earned himself weekly residencies at Tallahassee’s premier nightlife venues: Potbelly’s Concert Garden, TENN Nightclub, G.V.O. Nightclub, and Recess Nightclub. It was during this time that Evalution discovered his passion for music production. Since beginning the self-taught journey of music production in 2018, Evalution has honed his craft and released MANY TRACKS, REMIXES, AND MASHUPS that have garnered support from some of the biggest names in the industry, such as ADVENTURE CLUB, Blunts & Blondes, TVBOO, BAWLDY, CHOMPPA, Jeanie, and more.

As of the writing of this biography, Evalution has upwards of 15k monthly listeners on spotify and has gained over half a million SoundCloud plays. He has also landed premieres with largely recognized blogs in the EDM community, such as HeardItHereFirst, Electric Hawk, EDM Identity, Headbang Society, Wubaholics, and more. Fresh off of his new release via Excision’s Subsidia Records, Evan is currently sitting on a large back-catalog of unreleased material and is ready for a monumental 2021.

Transitioning from a longtime fan to an industry figure, Jordan Mafi has given a voice to notable and up-and-coming artists alike and provided her own through a number of outlets. Serving as the former executive editor of NEST HQ and a host for Insomniac Radio, Jordan’s original goal of becoming a music journalist has evolved to moving the needle in electronic music. She’s currently a curator for Beatport, acting as a community manager for genres including dubstep, electro house, hard dance, and more. She’s also a curator in her own right, launching her monthly hardcore playlist series Serious Damage in 2019. As a graduate with a bachelor's degree in journalism from San Diego State University, Jordan continues to find new methods of storytelling for the electronic music community; Jordan is currently pursuing a master's degree in music industry business from Berklee College of Music.

Producer and DJ from Bournemouth, UK, FuntCase aka James Hazell is known for his raw and dirty sound, forging the way with his controversial ‘filthy’ style. “FuntCase produces sensory overload bass music that wobbles, womps and machine guns through your body, making you dance whether you want to or not.” James first expressed his love of music through jamming with his schoolmates, taking his energetic and aggressive drumming style from death metal as well as being heavily influenced by happy hardcore and jungle, growing up to a background of Helter Skelter and Dreamscape mixtapes.

In 2009 James began to dabble with producing dubstep, giving his tunes a big energy by incorporating the drum and bass layering technique into his dubstep sound. His first track ‘Make Our Day’ was quickly signed to 4:20 Records. And so began the raw sound that is FuntCase. It wasn’t long before FuntCase began trading tracks with Doctor P, and an offer soon followed to bring James into the Circus Records camp with the release of his famed track ‘So Vexed’, with ‘Mattress Punch’ on the flip, in 2010.

Since then the phenomenon has grown, FuntCase has become a legend of the DJ world. With an incredibly loyal fan base Funty is known worldwide for working hard, playing hard, travelling hard – and DJing hard on stages globally. Over the years, championing other artists in the scene with his DPMO compilation albums and expanding the brand into its very own clothing line, it was a natural progression for FuntCase to head up his own imprint label falling under the DPMO brand. The first release, “Corruption EP” gave us a glimpse at what’s in store for his label as well as showing no signs of FuntCase slowing down when it comes to releasing neck breaking new music guaranteed to open up a pit where ever it’s played.
