Today we have the extreme pleasure of hanging out with Scott Forbush from Round Mountain Coffee! Round Mountain is a coffee shop in Conway, Arkansas run by Scott and his business partner Kyle Sackhoff. We spend a lot of time chatting coffee...like a lot. But Scott also offers up some advice and experience for small business owners about partnerships, social media, engaging your community, and more.
Today I talked with local urban farmer Kim Doughty-McCannon. Kim who owns and runs Bell Urban Farms in Conway, AR. I was so stoked to listen to Kim talk about the ins and outs of her farming experience and to pick her brain on how urban farming could impact food insecurity and hunger in our area. If you live near Conway, Kim gives tons of ways you can be involved in the local farming scene or access locally grown food!
After a bit of a hiatus, The Local Who is back! I sat down with Arkansas yoga instructor, Sara Sullivan, to talk about her involvement in Good Elephant which she lovingly refers to as "the Uber of yoga". We talk about the impact Good Elephant is making in the yoga world, her own journey with yoga, the authenticity as a child of God, building your community as opposed to finding your community, and best of all you get to listen to me fumble through yoga lingo!
Hampton Palmore is the Assistant to the Executive Producer of two current Broadway shows, Chicago and Waitress. We talk about the creative and harsh sides to professional theater life, what it's means to be a New Yorker and how he lived in a mobile peanut for a year. He is truly one of the most charismatic souls I know and if you're interested in theater or listening to a future world famous self-help speaker, you should definitely check this one out.
Forgive your amateur podcaster because I mixed up the dates and thought Thursday was February 15. Why? No clue because Valentine's Day should've been a huge hint. But the episode is finally here! I sat down with local musician Brad Byrd tot alk about songwriting, the arts community in Arkansas, faith, and the joys of music theory (if ya know, ya know).
