Jehovah Rapha - The God who heals.

Did you know all of my life I thought that Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals, meant simpy physical healing?!  You know- God will do miraculous healings of untreatable cancer and heal diseases, miraculous healing or arthritis and put babies inside of wombs where women have been barren.  Stuff like that!  And God can, and has, and DOES heal that way.  

But also its so much grander, so much BIGGER. 

God will actually pursue you and show you His love for you by exhibiting His Power.

Jehovah Jirah....The God who provides. 

Jehovah Shalom, the Lord is peace.

Jehovah is the God who reveals Himself; Jehovah is the God who initiates, He makes something from nothing; He initiates revealing Himself to you at a time when you need it the most.

Psalm 29:11, NIV The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.

Psalm 85:8, NLT I listen carefully to what God the LORD is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways.

The more we know God, the more our relationship turns to intimacy.

In levels of intimacy, we understand more of the names of God and what they mean to us.

Adonai - Lord, master, owner.

Surrendering our will and desires to Him who sits on the throne - but also is right in the middle of everything with us!

What an incredible Lord.

Elohim is one of the most common names of God and is mentioned just over 2000 times in scripture…

Elohim refers to His power; His strength; His ability.

He can create something from nothing. Nothing is too difficult or for him.

Psalm 33:6-By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. 7 He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere him. 9 For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.

For God so loved the world....

He formed it and everthing in it.  He designed each part specifically to work together.  He made animals to roam it...Then He formed man in His likeness.

Who is God?

Creater, Maker, Savior, Father, Lover of our souls, Healer, Leader, Protector, Provider, King

God - to understand Him completely is indescribable.  We get glimpses and at times utter revelations of Who He is. 

But God Himself IS love - and He pursues you.

For God so loved the world....
