Today I’m joined by Jim Beaver, best known for his role as Bobby Singer in Supernatural. The fifteenth and final season of Supernatural is soon to be released, but finishing filming hasn’t been easy with the virus.

Coronavirus briefly put all filming of the Supernatural on hold. But now the show is flying all its actors out to Canada so they can get those last few episodes filmed. So Jim is getting ready to go to Canada where he’ll have to self isolate for 2 weeks before filming can begin. 

Jim has acted in more shows and films than I could possibly list – Deadwood, Breaking Bad, Justified, Big Love, Sliver, Bad Girls, Magnolia, Adaptation, and the list goes on and on…

He tells me what it’s like to be a successful actor and how he managed to do so well in his career. 

A Texan after my own heart it’s great having Jim on the show, and even better to hear how the entertainment industry is starting to wake up again…

Today I have Dr. Tom Prichard on the show. He is a wrestling coach, multiple champion, and co-founder of a wrestling school in Knoxville, Tennessee – Jacobs-Prichard Wrestling Academy.

He takes me through the history of wrestling as a sports entertainment, how it all began in the 60s and 70s and had its peak of popularity in the 80s and 90s.  Tom has trained wrestling stars such as The Rock and Mark Henry whom we had on the podcast earlier.

In this interview we talk about why people think wrestling shows are fake and whether wrestlers are getting hurt (spoiler alert: it’s real!). We talk about some of the famous wrestlers like Johnny Valentine, famous matches, and how nowadays social media are influencing our perception of this ancient discipline.

With his wealth of experience, Tom shares a lot of motivating stories not only about training, but also about determination and getting through life in general. Enjoy our conversation!

The Band of Heathens have been busy over lockdown. Isolating themselves in Portland they recorded their brand new record named ‘Stranger’ that is due to come out on 9/25.

Gordy Quist sings vocals, guitar and plays the harmonica, as well as being one of the main songwriters for the band. He is with me today to tell me all about their latest projects. 

We talk about what his life’s been like touring with the band and he tells me the story of meeting Quincy Jones in Switzerland.  

He had been performing countless amounts of shows all over the country, but with lockdown things have changed. Now he performs at online private shows for some of his closest fans. 

Finally, he gives us an exclusive performance of his song ‘Cracking the Code’ and leaves me with shivers.

While some of us like to do one thing at a time, Martha likes to do it all. Martha Madison is probably best known for the 16 years she’s been starring on Days of Our Lives, but we’re here to talk food more than acting. 

Martha’s been in the restaurant industry for years, so she knows the kind of struggles we have to go through and why people put themselves through this madness. 

During the lockdown, she started her own podcast interviewing different people from the industry on various topics, and one of the notable episodes was about the worst customers they’ve encountered. If you’ve worked in hospitality, you can begin to imagine some of the hilarious stories she’s been told, and I even share one of my craziest stories here. 

But Martha’s not just been podcasting, she’s also been setting up a brand new restaurant in Dallas that will be opening in the near future i na 100-year old building. 

It takes a certain braveness to open a restaurant in the current climate, but when you hear about the 100-year old building it’s in, you’ll begin to understand why she’s put so much work into this endeavour.

Actress, singer and songwriter Allie Gonino is best known for her roles in ABC Family Series “The Lying Game” and “10 Things I Hate About You,” but she’s also just started a brand new podcast ‘The Balanced Bae’. 

She tells me why she started this new podcast and her passion for cultivating inner balance, external awareness and self-expression. 

She also talks about her acting career, the different celebrities she’s worked with and what it’s like working in the entertainment industry. 

Allie has been playing music and writing songs since she was a child, and she even toured with Justin Bieber at one point!

Arguably, James led the way in his Corona response as he said in an interview to Rolling Stones back in March ‘Postponing tour dates is the only ethical choice’. 

From Donald Trump to socialism and the welfare state, we discuss the political state the country’s currently in and the changes that need to happen.

In this episode I’m joined by American actor, model and singer Josh Henderson. 

Josh recently got the role as the heart throb male lead in the new hit series ‘The Arrangement’ where he offers an actress the role of a lifetime, but only if she agrees to sign a marriage contract with him. 

Also starring on hit shows like “Dallas” and “Desperate Housewives”, he’s seen a lot of Hollywood and tells me what it’s really like living and working there. 

From paparazzi, politics and the importance of knowing the right people, Josh explains all the ins and outs of the business. 

With the ongoing pandemic shows are being cancelled left, right and centre, and being an actor right now is not a secure career. 

Fortunately for Josh, he also has his music and he explains how although the pandemic has affected him he’s simply shifted his focus more towards that side of his life. 

An avid cook since he was young the talk then moves to food, and our favourite places to eat all across America…

Today I’m joined by Elizabeth Elkins and Vanessa Olivarez, members of the country duo Granville Automatic.

They like to focus their songs around telling stories and use music to get across parts of history that people may have otherwise not known about. With their newest album, they’ve taken that a step further, coming up with a truly unique format. They are releasing ‘Tiny Televisions’ as a companion album to their newest book ‘Hidden History of Music Row’.

Having a book and an album come out to complement each other is a great idea, and they explain to me where this idea came from and how exactly it works.

We talk about making music and the difficulties the pandemic has brought to the music industry, both in aspects of performance and in releasing new material during this time.

The conversation moves to food and the different eating habits that we have, flexitarianism, intermittent fasting, and we even talk a little about smoking weed!

It’s a crazy time for all of us, but this a duo that’s definitely good at keeping their heads screwed on straight and still being productive even in times like these.

Today, I’m joined by a multi-awarded American poet Wendy Barker. She is currently Poet-in-Residence and the Pearl LeWinn Endowed Chair at University of Texas in San Antonio, where she has been teaching creative writing since 1982.   

Soft-spoken and beautifully articulated, Wendy is kind to me and my minimal knowledge of poetry. Her seventh full-length collection of poems, Gloss, has been released in January this year. 

She teaches me what poems are used for, how the creative process of writing a poem works, and the importance of having people to give you feedback.

Having written a number of poetry books and won countless prizes, Wendy shares with us some of her immense knowledge about poetry, and reads us some newly released poems that she has recently written…

As a Reiki master, astrologer and intuitive healer, Lynn runs The Good Woo platform, a sanctuary for self-care, self-love and spiritual pleasure.

We also talk about food, cooking and travel. Lynn goes on to highlight to me the connection there is between what we eat and our mental health and well-being. 

Next, we talk about the beneficial effects that the pandemic is having and how although many horrific things have occurred because of COVID, there have been some positive effects too. 

Lynn is very connected with herself and gives good advice on how to be at peace with all sides of your personality, even those that seem dark or detrimental.
