The state government has taken its pre-Budget health spending to more than half a billion dollars in two days, with the latest focus shifting to infrastructure.

Premier Mark McGowan and Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson were out splashing cash again on Tuesday, announcing an additional $223m for various infrastructure projects in next week's state budget.

Headlining the spend is $16.5m for an upgrade to the intensive care unit at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, which will get 10 new state-of-the-art ICU beds.

It comes after Monday's $250m commitment for a range of measures to fix emergency care and ambulance ramping across WA.

Tuesday's announcement takes the total spend on new infrastructure to more than $1.5 billion over the next four years, that's on top of the $1.8b set aside for a new maternity hospital in Nedlands.

The mother of 21-year-old Jack McCormack, who was killed last year while assisting his OLA driver change a tyre on the freeway, has urged people to consider road safety and motorists who spend long hours on the road to know basic first aid. 

Natalie McCormack wants to see drivers of ride-sharing services and others on the road full time to have first aid training, in light of her son's death in August last year.

WA will scrap its indoor mask mandate as Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson announced on Tuesday a return to baseline settings from 12.01am on Friday.

The relaxed rules mean masks will not need to be worn, except on public transport and in rideshare cars, at airports, correctional facilities, hospitals and other health care buildings, including aged care.

G2G requirements and third-dose vaccine requirements will be scrapped for state border entries, while close contacts of infected people will not be required to isolate unless they show symptoms.
