Fitzroy Crossing Police have caught and released a Croc that was on the loose in an Industrial Area around 2-3km's away from the closet stretch of water. 

The Fresh Water Croc was just under 2 metres long.

Police consulted with the local shire and called in a former police staff employee Sean. Using the former employee as a living shield the officers watched him calm and charm the crocodile into a comforting blanket.

Academy Award winning Artist Shaun Tan has joined forces with other local, national and international Artists to create special artwork for an auction organised by Collier Primary School in Como. The unique idea has seen the School who is celebrating their 70th anniversary, despatch 70 old and unplayable violins for them to create a one of a kind piece of artwork.

The West Coast Eagles, Dockers and the Scorchers have also created their own Violin artwork masterpiece.

The Violin Art will go under the hammer at the Manning Community Hall on Friday.  Tickets are free but you must register on eventbrite.com.au or call the School on 9474 3626.

Preparations are underway by the Zoo to plan for the death of elderly and much loved Asian Elephant Tricia with the Zoo looking at rehoming the two younger Elephants at another Zoo when the time comes.

WA Environment Minister Stephen Dawson spoke about the future planning of the Zoo with Simon Beaumont on the Afternoon Program as the Zoo celebrates their 120th Birthday.

A swooping Magpie has been saved from death row after injuring 4 children at Clarko Reserve in Trigg.  Two of those children were hospitalised. 

The City of Stirling applied to The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions to have the bird put down, however the Department have declined the request saying that the Magpie's behaviour has improved over the last couple of weeks.
