The Longest Prophetic Time Line

Listen Later

Today's topic is The longest Prophetic Time Line.

The 2300 evenings and mornings represent the most significant period of prophetic time. In Daniel 9, the angel told Daniel that the period would begin with a decree to restore and build Jerusalem, verse 25. Artaxerxes' decree of 457 BC was the last of the three decrees that allowed the Jews to return to rebuild Jerusalem and restore temple services. Cyrus and Darius issued the first two decrees. This third decree was the most complete and marks the beginning of the 2300 years. God is exact! The Lord gave Daniel details of this great prophecy! Especially over the first 70 weeks, that is, over the first 490 years, emphasizing the last of the 70 weeks. In this prophecy, it is said that from the order to restore and to build Jerusalem until the Messiah. There would be 69 prophetic weeks or 483 days, 483 literal years. Since the decree was issued in the autumn of 457 BC, 483 years have been extended to the autumn of 27 AD. The word Messiah means anointed. In the autumn of 27, after Christ, Christ was baptized and received the anointing of the spirit, Acts 10:38. After baptism, Jesus went out preaching the gospel. He said the time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe in the gospel Mark, chapter one, verses 14 and 15. In the spring of 31, after Christ, in the middle of the last prophetic week, three and a half years after his baptism, Jesus was crucified. The system of offerings that pointed to the lamb of God ceased with the sacrifice on Calvary. The type had met antitype, and all sacrifices and offerings in the ceremonial system ceased in 70 weeks or 490 years. Intended for the Jews, they ended in 34 after Christ with the rejection of the gospel message by the Sanhedrin Acts chapter 6, verse 8 until chapter 7, verses 60. They ended in 34 after Christ, the week of seven years, and the last week of 70.

On that date, with the stoning of Stephen, the Jews finally sealed their rejection of the gospel. The disciples, scattered by persecution, went everywhere preaching the word, Acts 8:4. Shortly afterward, Saul, the persecutor, converted and became Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles. Subtracting 490 years from the 2300-year prophecy leaves 1810 years that take us to 1844 after Christ. Miller believed the sanctuary was the Earth and assumed that Christ would purify the Earth with fire. As I already told you, Miller got the date, but the event was wrong. Because the purification of the sanctuary predicted the beginning of judgment and not the return of Jesus.
