This week on the PPV LookBack show, we wanted to find a show that related to, or was similar to the upcoming Super Show-Down in Melbourne, Australia (2018). What we have found, is a show from 1986 called WWF The Big Event. This show was held in Toronto, Ontario Canada, the hometown of The Pro Wrestling LookBack. This was a show that we at the PWLB never even knew happened. There were over 74,000 fans packed into the Exhibition Stadium, downtown Toronto. The Former home of the Toronto Blue Jays, and a stadium that no longer exists. With this show being out of the USA and holding over 70,000 fans, we thought it related to the Super Show-Down pretty closely. So that’s why we decided to make WWF The Big Event our LookBack for this week.
As of 2018 this show is 32 years old, that being said there was some very good wrestling at this event, some of the matches include. Hulk Hogan as the WWF Champion vs Paul Orndorff, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat vs Jake “The Snake” Roberts in a Snake pit match, and a Six man tag match between Big John Stud, King Kong Bundy, & Bobby “The Brain” Heenan vs The Giant Machines, & Captain Lu Albano.
