Day 146 | 1 Kings 4:1-34; Psalm 72; Psalm 127
Under Solomon’s rule, Israel flourished—families had homes and gardens, peace surrounded the borders, and wisdom flowed from the king like never before. But Solomon knew the source: God gave Solomon wisdom. Today’s reading from 1 Kings and the Psalms reminds us that no success, peace, or lasting legacy comes from our hands alone. Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. In Psalm 72, Solomon prays for the future King—a prayer many believe looks forward to the Messiah. In Psalm 127, he reminds us all: God gives rest to those He loves.
