Starting out in the Marine Corps as a Trumpet instrumentalist he quickly rose through the ranks becoming a Drum Major leading Marine bands on the March. Eventually winning the Assistant Drum Major position he honed his craft as a Drum Major and when the opportunity arose to audition for the Main Drum Major position he won the position and led the Marine Band as the Senior enlisted for 10 years, 10 months, and 10 days.
