Necrons! Shiny angry ancient android antagonists. These guys and gals have been napping for over 60 million years and they are not good morning people. Especially when their galactic empire is overrun with vermin such as Orks and Humans.
This episode didn't take 60 million years but it is out a little later than expected. Roger made a promise that we would record an episode in September. We kept that promise. Then Colm missed a message from Roger and didn't publish the episode until October. We got lost again. This is what happens when two friends live in distant parts of the galaxy and only communicate through astropathic relay. No psykers were harmed in the making of this episode.

August 30, 2024 Episode 7 - The Sisters of Battle
Roger and Colm have been lost for a while. It is well known that time works differently in the Warp. We thought we were only five minutes after our last show but in real space the entire summer had passed. The topic is Sisters of Battle, the warrior women of the Adeptus Sororitas. Roger wonders how their special brand of purging is different to all the other brands of purging that occur in the 40k universe and Colm is only too happy to celebrate these seriously severe Celestians. These mighty militants are very special indeed and they lead us on to the topic of where women fit into 40k universe, both in the lore and within the hobby community. Bob Dylan once sang 'the times they are a-changing': some Warhammer fans have never heard that song....

Things get ruddy mysterious in an episode about the enigmatic Aeldari. Roger has prepared well for this journey, going back to the ancient times of the cataclysm known as 'The Fall'. Colm adds in his observations from the front line over years of service to the God Emperor. However the Warp and the Webway are deceptive places to travel and Roger finds himself finishing this particular adventure solo as some unexplained phenomena sees Colm disappear. It may be that the Guardsmen have become more lost than ever before...

March 18, 2024 Episode 4 - Astra Militarum (Tanith First and Only)
The Guardsmen get very lost in this episode as Roger gushes lovingly over Dan Abnett's novel 'First and Only' and Colm hares off down multiple lore tangents. Roger, who is usually the voice of reason and the tether to the intended path, can only wax lyrical about the Tanith First and Only, and how terrifying the galaxy is for your basic human soldier. The Warp has made us bare our souls and we betray our age by the mention of our favourite TV shows. Mild Spoilers for 'First and Only' and 'Ghostmaker', no major plot reveals, just an odd section here and there without giving away the main plot. In this episode, Colm and Roger get angry as they fall under the influence of Khorne, the Blood God. Known for being the least subtle God amongst the Pantheon of Chaos, prepare to hear multiple variations of blood, skulls, murder, brass, and anger. There's even a guy called Angron! Colm and Roger bitterly accept the truth that they are neither young nor genetically enhanced superhumans, Colm butchers a classic drum beat (by accident, not in Khorne's name) we discuss daemons and mortals, how Khorne armies play in AOS and 40k, and touch base with the ongoing Mordheim Campaign. While Colm hopes one day that he will regale Roger with tales of the eight Mortal Realms, the two Lost Guardsmen have to navigate through the Galaxy of Warhammer 40k and Roger has questions about the Tyranids: who are they? Where did they come from? Will they eat us as we are or would they appreciate condiments?
Colm talks back through a quarter century of hobbying and lore reading, while Roger prevents the tangents from going too far down the rabbit hole. While Roger learns a reasonable amount in one session, this is definitely just the tip of the iceberg...
