In the very first Chapter of Scales and Tails, we get a glimpse into the daily lives of our favorite Kobold clan- the Half-Tails. When they're not scouring the depths of the mine in search of gold for their revered hero, Uzis "The Final Eclipse on Man-Kind", they're piddling around the cave, eating bugs and living their best life. But as any good story goes, the journey is full of twists and turns.

Luyu and Korlin get a closer look at a camp riddled with abuse and trauma- tielfings held captive in the desert with no realistic means of escape. Eve and Smandra discover a mass grave containing the bodies of most of Mubem's hunters as well as a disfigured tiefling child desperately in need of liberation. The realization dawns on our adventurer's that Dregadorah and his men attacked and killed the hunters while entrapping innocent women and children deep within the vast desert. With nothing left to lose- Eve, Smandra and Turt unleash a surprise attack in hopes of saving as many innocent lives as possible and reuniting with Korlin and Luyu for one final heroic act.

After surviving an attack from an enraged Girallon, our adventurers climb to the top of the gorge to scout ahead. There are few signs of life except for a single fisherman beyond the rapids. With a sudden startle and a split moment to act, the fisherman casts our adventurers into uncertain peril.

A series of quick decisions and strategy helps our adventurers grapple a near death situation after which the fisherman is swiftly brought into their custody. The sight of a mutilated Tiefling catches our adventurers off guard and his lack of cooperation puts their journey on halt as night sets, temperatures drop, and hungry beasts awaken.
