If you're like me then you probably have an idea in your head about what your favorite rock songs are about. Right? We all know what "Free Bird" is about. We all know what "Highway To Hell" is about etc...

But there are a lot of rock tunes that are completely misunderstood.

For instance "Good Riddance (time of your life)" by Green Day is actually COMPLETELY misunderstood by most people. Let me explain....

If you have fond memories of belting out "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" at your middle-school graduation or during the last night of overnight camp with your friends, you aren't alone. Many people seemed to misinterpret the lyric "I hope you had the time of your life" as an earnest one, and ignore the first half of the song's title.

Green Day's lead vocalist, Billie Joe Armstrong, told Guitar Legends magazine in 2005 that he wrote the song while he was breaking up with his girlfriend who was moving to Ecuador.

"I was trying to be as understanding about it as I could. I wrote the song as kind of a bon voyage. I was trying not to be bitter, but I think it came out as a little bitter anyway," he said.

So... now ya know!

On this week's Loudini Rock & Roll Circus Podcast LIVE, we will tell you about another 15 or so songs that EVERYONE misinterprets and give you the REAL meanings so you can brag to your friends the next time your listening to the radio.

Good news... 2020 is over!

Bad news... we lost some absolutely ICONIC musician's this year; most notably Neil Peart and Eddie Van Halen.

One of the casualties of 2020 was singer, guitarist and founder of the band Mountain... Leslie West.

Back in 2015 I was extremely blessed to be able to interview Leslie for BluesRockReview.com.

He was very kind and generous with his time. He didn't know me from Adam but gave me a great interview just like he was on the Howard Stern show.

He was also HILARIOUS.

We laughed a lot and it was an experience that I will cherish.

My interview with him was picked up and referenced by both Rolling Stone and Guitar World magazines... pretty cool eh?

You can read my complete interview here: https://bluesrockreview.com/2015/12/leslie-west-interview.html

On this week's Loudini Rock & Roll Circus Podcast we will celebrate the live's and music of Eddie Van Halen, Neil Peart, Leslie West as well the other icons that we lost this year. It will be a fun but heartfelt look back as some amazing musicians and their legacy.

If you haven't listened to it lately, don't worry we will take you through it track by track! :)
