The AfriKan Shayman called into •Wellness • Healing •Wisdom • Dreams.
How do we make the leap from Mental Madness to Mental Wellness and Wholeness?
Wombmen are Healers – the WOMB is a nurturing space and typically releases the hormones and energies directed specifically towards cherishing, healing, caring, growth, development, support, etc. Healing has always been regarded as the natural responsibility of the AfriKan wombman – of mothers, Maa’itu, of Sisters and Queens. This was our area, our responsibility, our magic. Wombmen have always cared for their children and for their menfolk - be they brothers, cousins spouses or sons - who came back from long excursions and warring expeditions. From the oldest Queen Elda Maaitu, to the youngest princesses, the magic work of healing, was the wombmen's responsibility.
Wombmen have always been the midwives - bringing forth LIFE - they knew the procedures involved regarding the care of pregnant princess and care of the infant. Wombmen have always been the day to day carers and nourishers and life givers, and it was they who planted herbs, medicinal and food plants for poultices and medicine. Wombmen have also always been those who knew the rituals concerning the care of the dead, which chants to recite, how to handle the body avatar, which oils to rub on the skin after death, and how to dress the body avatar.
Today, wombmen are barred, isolated and kept away from many of these healing practices....
