The Macho MovieMan returns!!. To celebrate the 97th birthday of one of cinemas greatest icons we here at the Macho MovieMan podcast are delighted to invite you to join us for a brand new series exploring the career of Audrey Hepburn through a selection of some of her finest work.
We begin with Roman Holiday, her breakthrough film from 1953 that made her an instant star and a Best Actress Oscar winner in her American film debut. The tale of a European princess (who definitely isn’t a British royal!!!) who finds independence, strength, wisdom and romance on an adventure through Rome with an American journalist. It has cinemas most iconic haircut scene, cinemas most iconic use of a Vespa and a script with a backstory almost as fascinating as the film itself.
We also delve a little bit into the upbringing of Audrey Hepburn so that over the course of this five episode series we can see the dots of a lifetime connect to make Audrey not only an iconic actress but also an iconic figure beloved for not only her work on the silver screen but also her work as one of the most iconic humanitarians of the 20th century.
