Big Labor scored a big win when Democrat Tony Evers defeated Gov. Scott Walker in Tuesday's election. Evers, long backed by Wisconsin's teachers union and a proponent of the union-backed "Fight For 15" crowd, will doubtless be Big Labor's best friend as Wisconsin's new governor.

The time for talking, debating, and relentless political ads is over. Final arguments have ended. It's Election Day - a day when you, the citizen, have the power to change your government. Don't give up your voice, don't give up your power. Vote.

Van loads of professional protesters showed up at last Friday's gubernatorial debate at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. They were gathering to demand a $15 minimum wage, which candidate Tony Evers has pledged to deliver, at a "minimum." But research shows such drastic government mandates actually backfire on the very people the left-wing agitators claim they want to help: low wage workers. But why let facts get in the way of a good slogan?

If you're white, you're probably a racist. If you disagree, you're probably suffering from "white fragility." At least that’s what Decoteau J. Irby, Ph.D., believes is at the center of race relations and failed or stalled educational systems in America. At a recent conference sponsored by the state Department of Public Instruction, education leaders from around Wisconsin gathered to hear Dr. Irby's politically charged lecture on "white supremacy," bankrolled by taxpayers.

Here's the treat: homeowners in school districts around the state are in line to get serious property tax relief. But the trick is that the school districts want to keep that from happening, instead proposing significant new spending while claiming it won't have much of an impact on taxes. Conveniently overlooked, however, is how much taxes would drop absent the spending sprees.

With a $60 million referendum on the line, is the Cedarburg School District pro-referendum crowd stacking the deck? Documents obtained by MacIver News suggest the answer is yes. While a community survey showed 60 percent support for the spending spree, the survey appears to have been rigged to boost responses from district staff and parents, who got an email link to the survey while everyone else only got a paper version.

Wisconsin public employees continue to benefit handsomely from the state’s generous “sick leave conversion program.” Public sector retirees converted $171.96 million in earned sick leave credits in 2017, according to the latest data available. That’s up 3 percent from 2016, when retired employees in the Wisconsin Retirement System turned nearly $167 million into health insurance cash.

According to a new MacIver analysis, a single payer health care takeover would be a costly power grab by progressive politicians.
