All 8 episodes of the latest spinoff series in the Star Wars franchise are available now on Disney+.

Robert Eggers writes & directs this gothic horror film that is based on Bram Stroker’s original 1897 novel, “Dracula” and is a remake of the 1922 silent film, “Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror”. The film stars Bill Skarsgard, Lily Rose Depp, Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Emma Corrin & Wilem Dafoe. In this film, set in the 1830s, a young realtor is sent to an old mansion in order to sell the property. However, little does he know that the buyer is a demonic creature that is forever cursed to walk the Earth as a vampire. This film had been in production since 2015 and was a passion project for Eggers but delayed the film until 2022. The film hit theaters on Christmas Day in 2024 and went on to become the highest grossing film in Eggers’ career.

The playoffs have arrived and this is Round 1 or the Wildcard Round. The Houston Texans hosted the LA Chargers, the Baltimore Ravens met their divisional rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Buffalo Bills battled the Denver Broncos, the Philadelphia Eagles took on the Green Bay Packers & the Tampa Bay Buccaneers matched up against the Washington Commanders. Due to the tragic forest fires in Southern California, the game between the LA Rams & the Minnesota Vikings was moved to the University of Arizona Stadium in Phoenix.

Sony’s 6th film in their cinematic universe was directed by JC Chandor and stars Aaron Taylor Johnson, Russell Crowe, Ariana DeBose, Alessandro Nivola & Fred Hechinger. In this film, after an encounter with a lion leaves a young teenager with super human abilities, he leaves his father and half brother behind to live on his own. 15 years later and now a man, Kraven spends his life catching criminals in Russia & Europe but then the past returns for him in the form of a mysterious organization that could use a man with his abilities. This movie had been tossed around during the pandemic in hopes for the character to join the MCU. However, the script went through several writers and rewrites and eventually became part of Sony’s spinoff cinematic universe. The film’s initial 2023 release date was pushed back due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA Strike. In December 2024 after the film bombed at the box office, Sony announced that this would be the final film in this cinematic universe.

The final week of the regular season is here and a handful of teams are desperate to reach the playoffs while others are trying to secure their seed in the playoffs. Saturday night saw a double header as the Cincinnati Bengals took on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens hosted the Cleveland Browns. Sunday night was the main event as the NFC North Division title was on the line as the Detroit Lions took on the Minnesota Vikings to determine who will have the number 1 seed in the NFC playoff. Other Sunday afternoon games included Dolphins / Jets, Panthers / Falcons, Texans / Titans & Buccaneers / Saints.

The WWE’s flagship show made its debut on Netflix, live from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California. The show featured 4 matches and special appearances from the stars of WWE both pst and present as well as a few notable celebrity appearances such as comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, actress Vanessa Hudgens, rapper Travis Scott, Seth Green, Ashton Kutcher & Macaulay Culkin. John Cena also makes an appearance to kickoff his farewell tour for 2025. The 4 matches were “Main Event” Jey Uso taking on “The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre, Liv Morgan defends her Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley. In Tribal Combat, its Tribal Chief VS. Tribal Chief as the leaders of the New Bloodline & OG Bloodline do battle. Solo Sokia takes on Roman Regins to determine the One True Tribal Chief. Then, in the main event, Seth “Freakin” Rollins looks to end the war of words with “The Best in the World”, CM Punk.

The bottom of the barrel was full of cheaply made horror films, a Star Wars knockoff, a video game disaster and more of Sony’s “pettiness” towards the MCU. These are the worst movies of 2024 with no honorable mentions this year.

With one more game before the season finale, a number teams a trying to grab the final remaining spots in this year’s playoffs. Christmas Day saw another double header. First, the Houston Texans hosted the Baltimore Ravens and then the Pittsburgh Steelers took on the Kansas City Chiefs. Saturday featured 3 more games, Chargers / Patriots, Broncos / Bengals & Cardinals / Rams. All having playoff ramifications. Sunday night saw the Washington Commanders against the Atlanta Falcons. Monday night featured a showdown between the Detroit Lions and the San Francisco 49ers. Other Sunday afternoon games featured Vikings / Packers, Panthers / Buccaneers, Dolphins / Browns & Titans / Jaguars.

The 3rd film in this franchise was once again directed by Jeff Fowler and sees James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Shemar Moore & Jim Carrey all return to their respective roles as well as Ben Schwartz, Colleen O’Shaughnessey & Idris Elba return to their voice over character. Joining the cast is Krysten Ritter & Keanu Reeves, voicing the character of “Shadow”, the film’s new antagonist. In this film, Sonic and his team must face a new threat that was locked away during an underground secret military operation. Shadow has awakened and seeks revenge on those who took away his family. This film marks the third film in a rapidly growing franchise. The film hit theaters on December 20, 2024. A week before this film hit theaters, a 4th film has been announced, gone into production and plans to be released in 2027.
