We've all heard the phrase, "Double down on your strengths and forget your weaknesses!" This advice is well...... not accurate if you want to succeed.
Many of our weaknesses are self-proclaimed and not really weaknesses, but skills that need developed. We all have unique strengths and they can help us even overcome weaknesses. However, we shouldn’t stop developing a skill that’s lacking and when we do develop that skill, even just a little, it’s a huge confidence booster. I used to be terrible at public speaking, terrified even, and considered it a weakness. Through my career and other ventures I found myself in public speaking opportunities, even sought them out, and turned what I considered a weakness into a, maybe not strength, but a skill that I can be fairly effective at.
