The Commission of Inquiry into Criminality, Political Interference and Corruption in the Criminal Justice System has begun its work, with Chairperson Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga expressing confidence in the legal team's ability to deliver on its mandate. The commission was established by President Cyril Ramaphosa in response to allegations of infiltration of the justice system by criminal syndicates with ties to some government officials.
