My Community of Listeners,

I have been an athlete and sports lover my entire life, so naturally when it’s time for March Madness to roll around, I’m eager and excited to participate.  I thought I’d allow students to join me this year, and boy, did I underestimate the teachable moments that would follow.

Leaders emerged.

Excitement around athletics blossomed.

Students who are not even on my roster wanted to participate.

Engagement is/was at an all time high.

And then it hit me… I don’t just need to build a classroom community. I need to build a community PERIOD. So that’s what I’m going to do. Listen in on how I did just that with the Madness that is March.
