In this episode of our podcast, we dive into the topic of how to create belonging from a leadership position. I’ll warn you that the tactics she shares sound deceptively simple and the power they have to create belonging could easily be underestimated. We challenge you to activate at least one of Denise’s suggestions here and let us know how it worked!
Denise shares what happened when she went to visit Gary Vee at his office that she’d never experienced before or since that instantly created belonging. She also shared three unconventional takeaways specifically for leaders and how they can create belonging:
1. Make your employees feel welcome and at home from the moment they walk in the door, like they're walking into someone's living room. Leaders have the power to create or destroy belonging in these moments.
2. Become an "Over Introducer" and make an effort to make the new person in the group feel seen and valued. When introducing them, be sure to share something unique about that person, so that the rest of the group knows how special they are to you.
3. Be honest about what you love and appreciate about the people that work for you, it's a huge motivator for them to keep working for you, and it doesn't cost you anything.
Join us for this episode as we explore the topic of how to create belonging in the workplace and how leaders can make a positive impact on their employees.
