In this video I talk about an oft-ignored way to make music income that is likely available to you in your own town: The local church. Churches need music directors, players, singers, sound people, and they often pay for all of this positions.

Plus we talk about BMI/PRO Income and the new personal projects we both have going on.

If you have watched this channel, especially my live videos you know the name “Wolfgang Wohrle.” Wolfgang is a German composer who recently had his largest quarterly PRO quarter with BMI directly and only from sync licensing.

But Wolfgang didn’t go viral. He didn’t have a hit song. He spent years writing production music, starting in stock music libraries, got discovered by a BMG library, and now almost exactly 5 years later, his PRO royalties exceeded $50,000 in a single quarter.

I just received my 2nd highest BMI check ever.

But here’s the twist: Barely one single song payment made up more than 10% of it, and I didn't even own 100% of many of the songs I was paid.

So today I want to share some things about

* How I am getting paid from my PRO (BMI)

* What kinds of things are paying me, and how much (spoiler alert: it’s not Netflix!)

* All the royalties I am only receiving a piece of because of all the composers, artists, and songwriters I work with in my Positive Spin Partners program

* …and why that’s actually a good thing!

* And the math of scaling by not trying to do everything myself
