As the "journalists" obsess over the Kavanaugh minutiae, I have reflected on some recent murders which took place: Namely, those of Wendy Martinez, an apparently successful Washington DC woman of 35 who was killed while out jogging, of Celia Arozamena, a "burgeoning golf star" who had been burgeoning until she was killed two weeks ago at the age of 22, and also the serial murders of three homeless. What do they all have in common? They were all preventable by proper public policy. And not only did we not do so, we mostly don't even discuss doing so.
I recorded three separate pieces for this show which are separated by bird noises. In particular, I am told we may be hearing the black cap warbler, blackbirds, robins, the great tit, crows, wood pigeons, and a distant woodpecker. These were recorded in a French forest near Cologne.
