Also, at the same show, Edge and Christian had what was looking to be their final match, although that may not be the case anymore. A screwy ending saw Christian lose the TNT Title to his long time friend turned enemy, but won it back right away. Surprising turn of events. But where does this storyline go from here?

On today's show, The Wrestling Expert and The Frozen Asian join the show to review the August 19, 1996 episode of WCW Nitro.

The nWo won the World Heavyweight Title for thier leader, Hollywood Hogan, just 8 days prior at Hog Wild, but Hogan had Ric Flair To contend with 4 days earlier, barely escaping Clash of the Champions with the belt after his nWo stable mates interfered, causing the match to get thrown out. So nWo still reign supreme, and WCW wrestlers are frustrated about not being able to get one over on the heelish trio.

Everyone is well aware that War Games is on the horizon, and the tonight’s main event scheduled between members of the Four Horseman against Sting and Lex Luger gets uphended by a legendaruy summit that sees the historic rivals agree to join forces to take on the common enemy.

Also, Randy Savage is hot! One week after Hollywood Hogan put the Macho Man out of action with a steel chair, Savage is out for revenge. He cuts a classic promo with Mean Gene before main eventing this episode of Nitro with the Giant, in an adrenaline packed superstar showdown. The Macho Man is out to punish the Giant for losing the WCW World Title to Hollywood Hogan, failing WCW.

Plus! Although the nWo members themselves did not feature live at the arena on this day, Senior Referee Nick Patrick is under heavy scrutiny for almost anything at this point, after recent actions have everyone suspecting the nWo might be greasing his palms. Here he fails to stop a post match attack on Chavo Guerrero at the hands of Diamond Dallas Page. Do you agree he could have done more, or is he under excessive scrutiny?

We're focusing on the nWo storyline here, but passing through the episode, we catch glimpses of classic legendary wrestlers such as Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Disco Inferno, Chris Benoit, and for you Jim Cornette fans out there, Bobby Eaton appears as Earl Robert Eaton.

On this morning of AEW World's End, the Malapert Smark podcast has you covered for a preview and predictions for the big show. Vlad "The Wrestling Expert" & Robert "The Frozen Asian" are on the panel to discuss.

The wrestling community is eagerly awaiting news on whether whoever stole MJF's devil mask and wreaking havoc on AEW will be revealed. Samoa Joe was revealed as one of the mystery man's accomplices, and will take his second crack at taking the AEW World Title off MJF.

Also, Edge & Christian's epic feud is coming to a close with the TNT Title on the line. We review how we've reached this point, including a watch along of Nick Wayne's Mom explaining why she sided with Christian on the December 23, 2023 AEW Collision, and the final brawl they had on the December 27, 2023 episode of Dynamite

On the Continental Classic Tournament front, fans of Swerve Strickland were disappointed he didn't reach the final this past Wednesday on Dynamite, but can take solace in another fan favorite reaching the final as Eddie Kingston came up with a huge win againt Brian Danielson on Dynamite.

And Sting's career is coming to a close in a few months. He managed to get on the card tonight, teaming with Chris Jericho. With Kenny Omega out of action for the foreseeable future, who will Jericho tag with to challenge for the AEW titles? Here's a hint, they used to be Le Sex Gods! Check out why it didn't work out between Jericho's old friend Sami Guevara and the Don Callis Family.

On this episode, The Wrestling Expert and The Frozen Asian, join the show to review the August 12, 1996 Episode of WCW Nitro and the August 15, 1996 episode of Clash of the Champions 33, where Hollywood Hogan is to defend his newly won "NWO" World Title against long time rival Nature Boy Ric Flair. Except this time the roles have reversed, and Ric Flair is the fan favorite.

The other members of the nWo are busy dealing with Sting and Lex Luger, as they get called out on Nitro, and an incredible fight ensues.

Also, we get some early dealings of referee Nick Patrick with multiple controveries having WCW wrestlers questioning his loyalty especially after the fast count ending helping the Outsiders beat Sting and Luger at Hog Wild. Great interview here as Mean Gene Okerlund asks the hard hitting questions.

WWE have been rumored to be in the mix as a major power play could possibly force their competitors to their doom.

We've gone away from bashing poor little AEW in recent weeks, but this is a discussion that needs to happen. It's intense. So hang on to your ass!!

We got The Wrestling Expert and the Frozen Asian on on the panel today as we watch clips from WCW Nitro on August 5, 1996, the week after Hall & Nash left everyone laying on Nitro, causing absolute mayhem. This week we catch the fallout as the Four Horseman will not take the attack on Arn Anderson laying down. They're out for revenge!

Also, on the very same Nitro, we catch a rare glimpse of Chris Benoit and his future wife Nancy. Interesting scene as Jimmy Hart tries to pry Nancy away from the Horsemen and Chris Benoit.

This Nitro also included the first paid announcement from the NWO and the NWO theme music.

And this is all leading up to Hollywood Hogan challenging the Giant for the WCW World TItle at Hog Wild August 10, 1996. As a bonus we got referee Nick Patrick's first drama as referee during the Outsider's match with Sting & Lex Luger. Nick Patrick who would later full on join the NWO!

Since CM Punk’s very first appearance returning to WWE at Survivor Series, we knew a clash with the Word Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was on the horizon. Rollins was visibly upset with CM Punk’s return and considering the history, many thought it was real.

Whether it was or not, here we are as it enters the storyline on Raw. Punk chooses to be on Raw instead of Smackdown. Rollins is on Raw. There is no escaping this showdown!
