Artist Emily van Lidth de Jeude's documentary installation work, the MAMA Project, centres around a series of interviews she conducted with mothers living on the west coast of Turtle Island/North America. After interviewing the mothers about their feelings and experiences, Emily then painted their portraits on used and tattered bed linens. The MAMA Project installation is a collection of these portraits, hung on clotheslines, interspersed with the mothers' commentary, either in projected audio, or painted as text on used bed linens.
