  • EP 12 Rifles & Sirens Josh Castle, Security Guard

All Josh wanted to do was come home in the same shape as he was when he started his shift as a security guard. When a fight erupted at work, Josh was beaten and stomped buy conflicting parties leaving him with significant injuries including PTSD. We go over the event and what issues he still deals with on a daily basis. Josh's partner Tiffany joined him to give her perspective on the events and to help Josh recall the moments after the event. In this day in age we see posters for ambulance workers, fire fighters and police with zero tolerance on violence toward them. Unfortunately, we don’t see the same for security guards. Being a security guard myself I couldn’t exclude Josh’s story from a Rifles and Sirens title because we go through all the same stuff.

  • EP 11 John Bailey

To look at John Bailey, you wouldn’t expect to hear the story you are about to hear. John’s peers would regard him as a man’s man, strong, tough, steak eating bearded bloke. Witch is why when the words came out of his mouth that he was sexually abused as a child, they couldn’t fathom that this could have happened to him. Not only was he abused, but the person he confided in took full advantage of the situation and abused him also.

John found incredible strength and went to the authorities about what he had gone through. Although he said it was tough, he had to do it to be able to move forward and successfully went to bring one of his abusers to justice. He is still finding the strength to face the other.

I praise John for his cordage in bringing this story to us in a bid for others to do the same and break the silence. An incredible episode awaits. Thank you, John Bailey.

  • EP6 Trademutt
In this episode we talk to Dan and Ed from Trademutt. Dan and Ed are two tradies that met on site and gelled from the get go. Working with each other for a number of years they decided to branch out on their own. Sick of wearing the same old dreary work shirts, they decided to go out on a whim and launch the tradie community into the fashion industry buy creating some rather loud and hard to forget shirts. Soon after, things would take a sudden turn when Dan lost a friend to suicide just as things were looking up in his future, only 3 days after securing himself an adult apprenticeship. After the loss, Dan an Ed decided that they would use the colourful clothing brand to bring awareness to mental health in the tradie community in a bid to get people talking about what life is throwing at them and gain support from fellow workers, reducing the rate of suicide in their beloved industry. Their story of a very quick success is one to behold and it just goes to show what can happen when you put your mind and commitment into it.  www.Trademutt.com
