Real Estate has been Blake's career since he walked off the stage at SDSU with a Bachelors degree in Entrepreneurship, and a minor in Marketing. It was clear to Blake from day one that he wanted a career that allowed him to optimally utilize his business-driven mindset, and love for helping people. After reflecting on why this episode went #1 we have some thoughts. First, Matt's ability to vulnerably communicate is purely magic. Second, Matt was fresh into his sabbatical when we recorded however by the time we published there was word starting to circulate that he might resign from Vance Thompson and focus more on his family and business....which he did. Third, Vance Thompson Vision is a major brand in this region and to hear from one of it's leaders was a major promotion for this episode. Last, the episode hits all four of our main objectives on The Mandate Podcast: Encouraging, Meaningful, Vulnerable, Deep.

This episode is mission-centric for the Mandate Podcast. The topic is controversial, the vulnerability is raw, and the emotions are captured simply using audio. Nathan absolutely carries this episode with Ben & Ryan simply asking a few questions. One of the first episodes Ben & Ryan recorded together and we came out hot. Heather is incredibly vulnerable in her testimony about alcohol addiction and potential suicide. Due to a supporting husband and quick action from some close friends, Heather is alive and sharing this story. We were honored to be the first to record her story and she has gone on to start her own podcast, Fortitude, and has been asked to share her story publicly on-stage in the Sioux Empire.

Immediately following Kyle Pickner's original episode educating Mandatees on the power and influence of Cryptocurrencies Ryan made a comment. He said, "We didnt even get to the good stuff." To which Ben responded, "What good stuff?" This episode is the good stuff. Kyle's pragmatic approach to the card he was dealt as he was figuring out where his place in the world sits. Kyle has parlayed this episode into an amazing career in the crypto space and we were honored to capture a few stories from his vulnerable past.

A harken to the past when Joe and Ben were co-hosting and were just starting Season 2. We are honored to portray Megan's story and she was unbelievably courageous. The follow-up we had from Mandatees was mostly around the conversation of "showing up." Not asking, "What can we do?" but instead just acting when a friend or loved one is in crisis.

The concept for “Isn’t it Lovely?” was formulated ten years ago at the beginning of a sister-like friendship between Tracy and Rachel. Both transplants to South Dakota, they found comfort, safety, and laughter in a friendship with each other that became a steady lifeline as the years served up both unspeakable loss and indescribable joy. Through it all, they always hoped they would one day collaborate on a project that would uplift and encourage others. After promptings from friends and family, as well as inspiration from the book of Philippians and its admonishment to meditate and focus on all that is LOVELY, the “Isn’t it Lovely?” podcast was born.
