You can find your way into most Cincinnati bars and find yourself a great Manhattan. We live in a good era to be a drinker, after all. However, when it comes to this cocktail... there’s a lot to appreciate and understand if you want to take things to a different level.

The history? There’s a ton of stories there. The recipe itself? Like most good drinks it all depends on who’s making it, and why or when they’re making it.

I was joined on this week’s episode of Drinking With The Gnome by my friend and fellow beer-geek, Andy Foltz to take a brief trip into at least the shallow end of the pool when it comes to the Manhattan. We talked about some of the stories that make up the drink’s history, and we drank one that had a few of my own little twists to it.
