It’s Christmas Day and Mannina finds herself called to the home of a single mother with two children. Upon entering the living room, she notices a little girl holding a doll and food, including turkey, mashed potatoes and even grease, smeared all over the walls. The woman tells Mannina that her son ran off which sets in motion the search for him, a trip to the gas station and a holiday that the family, Mannina and other officers, will never forget!

After the victim is miraculously released from the hospital, Mannina helps her find a safe place to stay away from her abusers as the investigation continues. Mannina “walks the warrant through” and gets a judge to quickly issue one so she can enter the home to retrieve evidence.
