  • Racing the Clock to Save Wildlife: Alabama Wildlife Center’s Urgent Call
On tonight’s show, I’m joined by Chris Sykes, Executive Director of the Alabama Wildlife Center, to talk about a critical opportunity that’s right in front of us.
With a May 1st deadline quickly approaching, AWC is in the final push to secure the remaining pre-registrations needed to launch Alabama’s first-ever wildlife rehabilitation specialty license plate. This isn’t just about a tag. It’s about creating a lasting source of funding that could generate more than $40,000 annually to support wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and education across our state.
We’ll talk about the impact AWC is making, the thousands of birds they care for each year, and why this moment matters so much. Most importantly, you’ll hear how you can help make sure this opportunity doesn’t slip away.

He also shares how even if you’re not a direct match, you can still help through paired donation programs that connect donors and recipients. This is an opportunity to make a real difference, not only for Rory, but for many others in need. To learn more or consider becoming a donor, visit nkr.org/TFG957.

  • Holding On for Hope: Rory Amos’ Fight for a Kidney
On this edition of The Mark White Show, I’m sharing the story of Rory Amos, a husband, father, and hardworking provider who continues to push forward in the face of serious health challenges.
Rory has been on peritoneal dialysis for the past three years and is currently on the transplant list for a kidney at UAB and St. Thomas in Nashville. His journey has included life-changing complications from diabetes, including the loss of a leg, yet he continues to work, provide for his family, and press on with determination.
Alongside his wife Jessica, Rory is raising five children and has opened his home and heart to a foster child they are working to adopt, showing what it means to care for others even while facing his own fight.
This is a story of resilience, family, and a real need for a kidney donor.
If you feel led to learn more about becoming a living donor or to share Rory’s story, this is an opportunity to make a difference.

  • Make A Difference Minute: The Power of Showing You Care
On this Make A Difference Minute, after receiving an ABBY Award from the Alabama Broadcasters Association last night, and dedicating it to my friend Danny Johnson, I wanted to share some of my conversation with Danny from February 2020.
