The Marlon Benjamin Podcast

God reveals different parts of his nature throughout scripture; many of these characteristics are found in the different names He is called. But what do these names mean? What do they reveal about his character and nature? In this episode, Marlon deals with the fact that believers need not become ignorant of the God they worship and begins to dive into 10 of God's names found in scripture. Video version is available on Spotify and YouTube.

Our words are very powerful and we should never be flippant with the way we talk. Some people have problems with the things that they confess over themselves and continuously sabotage themselves by speaking words of doubt and unbelief. The fix to this issue is not just changing what you say, but firstly changing what you put inside of your heart. The bible states that "the mouth speaks what the heart is full of" (Luke 6:45), so if we would like to stop speaking wrongly and start confessing God's word, we should fill ourselves with that. In this episode, Marlon deals with the importance of what we say and the first step we must take to change our confession. Video version available only on Spotify.

The ministry of the Holy Spirit is very controversial and some would go as far as crediting his work to the devil. But part of the Spirit's work is to draw men to Christ, so why would the enemy work miracles, healings and fill people with the Spirit (actions that brought people to Christ in the bible) to draw them away from Christ?

In the first installment of video podcasts, Marlon deals with the fact that believers can know the will of God and don't have to resort to praying "if it be thy will" when it comes to situations that God has already laid his will out about. The bible lets us know that light and darkness cannot co-exist; every time light shows up, darkness comes subject to it. Believers have been called the light of the world and they have been charged to let their light shine before people. If we are walking and the light and letting it shine, there is no way for the enemy to snuff it out and overtake us because darkness is never able to overcome light. In this episode, Marlon deals with the fact that believers cannot be possessed by demons because the light that they have subdues him and his works.

Through the years, people have debated whether or not a Christian can be a target for demon possession; some people believe that this can happen, but this cannot be true because the believer has submitted their life to God, has the holy Spirit living in them and has been given authority over all the works of the enemy. Therefore this could only happen if the devil had enough authority to kick the Holy Spirit out of His temple or if they come to a cohabitation agreement. Neither can happen. In Part 1 of this series, Marlon begins to deal with the fact that Christians are not their own, but are temples of the Holy Spirit. Therefore NOBODY else can own them.

Being a Christian is not popular nor does is bring about approval from many people; a lot of times it brings opposition and persecution. The enemy often uses these things to intimidate believers and make them back off their purpose and faith in Christ, but instead of backtracking, Christians should press forward even in the midst of these attacks. In this episode, Marlon deals with being a Christian that refuses to give into the enemy's intimidation tactics in a world that is hellbent against Christ.

"Millennials are hard to reach", "Miracles are not for today", "you don't have to do all that to please God" are all sayings that many have heard that are not true. In this episode, Marlon covers multiple topics; he begins to deal with the struggles that people have in reaching millennials with the gospel, the purpose of God's miracle-working power and the plague of "casual Christianity" which has made people believe that it's fine to have a light esteem and little reverence for a holy God.

Divine Health is a benefit that God has afforded to his children, but ignorance has caused some to believe that He teaches certain lessons by afflicting his people with sickness and disease. This is not true. Sickness and disease came on the earth as a result of the fall of Adam and Eve, but through Christ's sacrifice, believers have been redeemed from that curse and can live in victory over it! In this episode, Marlon establishes three of many truths from God's word about divine healing and shows that God is not one to afflict his faithful children with sickness. Biblical prosperity is probably one of the most attacked doctrines of the bible; many that attack it don't fully understand it's purpose in the life of a believer and repeat statements that they hear other people say. The enemy, unlearnt believers and the world have a serious problem with God's children being blessed financially, but it doesn't change the fact that God desires to prosper his people that are faithful to him. In this episode, Marlon deals with why the enemy heavily attacks this doctrine and what the word of God has to say about it.
