THE MARTY GRAMZ SHOW IS BACK.
After some time away, Marty Gramz returns with a raw episode about money, popularity, influence, internet culture, celebrity worship, activism, prison politics and the dangerous habit of letting other people think for you.
From Chris Rock and the Will Smith slap, to the outrage surrounding Nolan Wells, to the so-called Dead Internet Theory, Marty asks a bigger question:
When did popularity become proof that somebody is right?
Social media was supposed to give ordinary people the power to create their own platforms and speak freely. Instead, algorithms, money and the chase for viral moments are increasingly teaching everybody to use the same hooks, repeat the same opinions and follow whatever already has numbers attached to it. marty
And that mentality doesn't stop online.
People will hesitate to spend $100 supporting somebody they actually know, then spend $500 on a brand because somebody else convinced them it has value. They'll defend celebrities they've never met, follow personalities because they're popular, and sometimes accept leadership simply because somebody has money, influence or a reputation. marty
“Money is your God and popularity is your ritual.” marty
This is The Marty Gramz Show: unfiltered commentary, hip-hop culture, social criticism, street philosophy and conversations people might not agree with, but they're damn sure going to have an opinion about.
