A clip online got me thinking about something that people rarely separate:
Helping and being obligated are not the same thing.
Before anybody twists my words, let me be clear:
If a biological father abandons his child, he's wrong. He's the first person who should be held accountable.
But somewhere along the way, we've started acting like a new boyfriend automatically inherits responsibilities that belong to someone else.
Why?
In this episode, I break down the difference between choice, responsibility, entitlement, and community, and why I believe we've been having the wrong conversation all along.
This isn't about attacking single mothers or defending deadbeat fathers.
It's about asking who is actually responsible, and why we keep shifting that responsibility.
