Inland areas are heading for 70 or 71 degrees this afternoon, while that's 25 degrees above normal. Worcester might crack its daily record of 67 set back in 2020. Hartford and the Connecticut River Valley? Low 70s. The kind of warmth that makes you question your winter coat choices.

Moving on. But the coast? Totally different day. Fog and low clouds are camping out along the south shore. Cape, while and Islands through mid-morning. Boston and the eastern coast get stuck in the low 50s while inland Massachusetts basks in near-summer warmth. Classic coastal cooling doing its thing.

Southwest winds hold steady at 6 to 10 miles an hour, keeping any seabreeze offshore.

The coast settles around 65, though sea breezes keep Cape Cod and the Islands a touch cooler. Southwest winds stay gentle at 6 to 10 miles an hour, with occasional gusts to 22. It's the kind of day where you leave your jacket in the car and don't regret it.

Tonight stays mild under clear skies. Western Massachusetts drops to the low 30s with patchy fog after 1 A.M. Eastern and central areas hang in the upper 30s to low 40s.
