The

apostle Paul gave instruction to the Corinthian Church to “follow me as I

follow Christ”. He was saying that he could lead only as he followed

Jesus. This was the time that the early church was developing and pastoral

leadership was beginning to be developed, though God has always called upon men

and women to step up and lead the people to the places and ministries God was

calling to. This message will deal with the concept of God’s power and

authority in the church and how God dispenses the responsibility for that power

and authority. The scriptures shared will help us to remember that we are not

just a “religious club” of people or a circle of friends, but that we

are the arms and hands of God, working in this world to bring others to Jesus.
