We all use fire everyday, but it is so integrated into our lives we forget and take it for granted. Fire can purify our water, cook our food, and warm our shelter, yet so many folks haven't been taught the fire triangle and types of fuel. Knowing these things is best taught to our youth and passed on through generations. Hear how we are trying to make that happen!

We are all guilty of it, we've taught something to someone only to find out what we taught was wrong. Brian was once taught that turkeys can't fly! Over the course of our careers we have heard from several people who believed that myth. In this episode we share the specifics about turkey flight and share some very humbling turkey hunting stories. 

We aren't much for "Ol Wives Tales" and "Folklore", science provides the real understanding! There are so many theories and beliefs surrounding the timing, intensity, and causes for the rut, but what does science say? In this episode we discuss the biological and ecological factors that result in the whitetail hunters favorite time of year. 

Rural or Urban, it doesn't really matter these days. Anyone who has spent any time in the outdoors at night, or just slept with the windows open has heard the eerie sound of a coyote howl. It will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck! Sometimes it sounds like there must be 50 of them, but was there? 

It is incredible to see such a large group of people and partners get together to celebrate and teach all things outdoors. We were honored to teach at this school and glad to share our experience with you. Nature calls! For deer hunters there isn't much worse then settling into your treestand all bundled up and full of anticipation on a cold day, only to feel the urge. Then the thoughts begin, do you hold it? Try to go in a bottle? Or just water the tree? Listen in as we use science in defense of peeing from the treestand. You might just find this one a relief! 

Sometimes in life we feel prompted to do something unexpected. Experience will tell you that ignoring those prompts usually leads to trials. Ben recently answered the prompt and traveled to Poland refugee camps to take part in construction projects for the refugees. We share our tips for international travel, talk hunting in Poland, and get emotional about time spent at Auschwitz.
