The Memory Bouquet is a short novella featuring Risa, Ginger, and Georgia, three sisters who live in a world of missed opportunities and regret.
Long ago, all three sisters were given the chance to follow their dreams. Twins Ginger and Georgia took theirs, but eldest sister Risa gave hers up to stay behind and raise a family with her childhood sweetheart. And now, twenty-five years later, Ginger's a high profile entertainment lawyer living in L.A., right around the corner from her very famous sister, Georgia Franklin - a far cry from their hometown of Cypress Falls, Louisiana. Eldest sister Risa still lives there, and she's built her adult life around her husband Mike and their only child Lisa.
While it may seem like Ginger and Georgia have it all, they both know what their sister doesn't, that life is lonely at the top. It's lonely back in Cypress Falls too now that Risa's marriage is falling apart, and right before her daughter's wedding. The groom is not only the son of Georgia's childhood crush, but he's also the nephew of baseball great J.D. Ramsey - Ginger's boyfriend from high school.
Life hasn't turned out quite the way any of them planned, and the prospect of this wedding won't let any of them forget it.

Choices, Consequences and Memories
This novella introduces the three Franklin sisters and their family dynamics. Risa is the oldest sister and Ginger and Georgia are the younger twins. I have to admit that I don't read a lot of novellas nor do I read very many contemporary stories. The Memory Bouquet is both and I really enjoyed it. The story is told from the viewpoint of each sister. It's interesting how a certain event in each of the sisters lives shaped their futures and their relationship with each other. The characters are very well-written and I could relate to each one of them. It's refreshing reading about characters in their 40's that have experienced life. The build up left me wanting to see the fallout when the family finally come together for the nieces wedding. At the end, I could not wait to read The Lonely Hearts Club and see what happens at the wedding and whether or not the sisters can mend their relationships.
Terrific Stories
Every story in The Memory Bouquet is terrific. This is some of Ms. Edwards' best work. The stories are well-written, the dialog is pitch perfect and the characters are well-drawn. I couldn't stop reading. Ms. Edwards' left me wanting. I have to read about the wedding. I have to know what happens to the sisters and if they get their happily-ever-afters. I hope Ms. Edwards publishes the next book soon. These stories are so well-written that I feel I really know the sisters and I care about them. A definite great read.
Wonderful read about Southern family ties.....Whether broken, or healing..... Full of Great Characters....
This book introduced me to three sisters, Georgia, Risa, and Ginger. I loved the aspect of getting to know about each one, and the reasons that caused them to go their separate ways. I enjoyed this story, and found it very nostalgic, as well as complex.
