Fly fishing and hunting are very similar sports. One compliments the other and both allow the participant to insert themselves into the cycle of life. 

We fished 3 amazing destinations yesterday all in one day.  It was a great trip fishing for big Rainbows at Rocky Ford, Largemouth Bass, and a local creek with our sons.  

Took the whole family to Yellowstone last week.

Fly fishing on the Sea of Cortez is big fun, especially when you go with bunch of fun couples.  We fish for Dorado, Roosterfish, Yellowtail, Sea Bass, and a bunch of other species.  We also talk about rods, fighting fish, casting, and presentation for Dorado. 

Proper layering and attire is so critical in your success as an angler.  Get outfitted right and you'll have more fun on the water, fish longer, and catch more fish. 

It's all about the MEND people. MEND it.

Today I get together at the Back Edddy Bar, which is inside Red's Fly Shop, and chat with my good friends Shan, James, and Craig about our fly fishing trips to Ascension Bay Mexico this last season. We share ideas, strategies, and experiences that hopefull you can learn from.

Spring Runoff. Yuck. Its all part of the fly fishing life and today we'll interview Steve Joyce, founder and managing owner at Red's Fly Shop on HOW to deal with muddy water. We'll talk about the benefits of high runoff and how to alter your strategy.  

Today we interview one of our long time guides and friends, Shan Sedgwick and talk about how to plan a grea trip.  We swap some old stories and do a lot of joking around about days of old and reflect on some great trips... and a few bad ones.  

Day 4 summarizes lots of action for the "Bonefish Virgin" on his first trip to the flats of Ascension Bay.  At this point we had encountered Permit, Bonefish, Tarpon, Snook, Barracuda, and Jacks!  Lots of variety on these flats. I love James' perspective on working with the guides and tips for new anglers on how to have a successful trip.
