On today's episode we speak with author and founder of Grief Yoga, Paul Deniston. Paul is certified in Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Kundalini Yoga, Laughter Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Let Your Yoga Dance. He also has taught movement at the Stella Adler Academy in Hollywood.
Paul shares his challenges growing up in Texas and living a life of sex, drugs and rock n' roll, how he developed "Grief Yoga" and his new book, "Healing Through Yoga: Transform Loss into Empowerment".
Paul's intention with Grief Yoga is to combine many different forms of yoga in order to help heal grief. He has several online courses dealing with all kinds of loss and teaches this practice to counselors, psychologists, and health care professionals on his training platform: Grief Movement Training. Paul certifies other yoga teachers in the Grief Yoga Teacher Training. He also teaches at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Massachusetts, at Esalen, and at 1440 Multiversity.
